PlateSync (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a recipe and meal planning application available on iPhone. The service is operated by the PlateSync team, based in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at privacy@platesync.co.uk.
2. What data we collect
We collect the following information when you use PlateSync:
- Account data: your email address and display name, provided when you register.
- Recipe data: recipes you create, import, or save within the app, including ingredients, steps, and any photos you upload.
- Preferences: dietary preferences, allergen preferences, and measurement settings you configure in your profile.
- Meal plans & shopping lists: meal plans and shopping lists you create within the app.
We do not collect payment card details. All subscription payments are processed by Apple via the App Store.
3. How we use your data
We use your data solely to:
- Provide and personalise the PlateSync service to you.
- Sync your recipes, meal plans, and preferences across your devices.
- Respond to support requests you send us.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data storage & security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, with servers located in the European Union (Ireland). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to your account only via Row Level Security policies.
Recipe cover images are stored in Supabase Storage and are only accessible to your account.
5. AI features
PlateSync includes an optional AI ingredient substitution feature. When you use this feature, the ingredient name and recipe title are sent to our secure backend to generate suggestions. No personal account information is included in these requests.
6. Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, or to delete your account entirely, please contact us at privacy@platesync.co.uk.
7. Children's privacy
PlateSync is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
